This is how I Used TikTok SEO to Lead a Company to 21k Views.
The Run-down:
There are so many elements you need to be aware of when looking at reaching 10k-20k+ on TikTok, I can sit here all day and talk about TikTok SEO, but if you don't utilise other TikTok techniques, you may not get as far. Pair TikTok SEO with a strong understanding of your audience (their questions/ pain points/ optimised posting times), Strong Copy (Hooks/CTA's) and a high-quality video and you're good to go!
Here is the pathway I took to reach results like these:
Trending Keywords 📈
Before creating and posting content, I hunt for trending keywords. One easy way that I do this is by using TikTok's Search Bar.
Write down 5 generic/broad keywords relating to your company/niche/industry. For example, I used "UK" for a UK Based Holiday Company
Start typing your word into TikTok's search bar and note down the recommended search results that pop up the higher the result, the more likely they are to be highly searched keywords (For example I found UK Beaches was one of the first results when typing in "UK")
I pick one keyword/topic at a time and use these words to inspire new content, optimising my TikTok SEO on these videos to increase reach.
Visual Content 🎨
During content creation/ editing you need to keep your keyword in mind
Make your topic clear visually in the video, for example, UK Beaches. You need to show beaches within your video (haha, pretty self-explanatory right?)
You can make this easier for TikTok to recognise by utilising text. Add a hook to the start of your video that includes the keywords that you would like TikTok to categorise your content as.
Optimise your Caption 🖊
Include keywords within your caption (by this, I don't mean spam your keyword all over your content, use different phrases related to your content)
This could be as simple as using your keyword as a hashtag, which is what I have previously done, as long as the rest of your content relates to this, it will be enough for TikTok to categorise
Avoid words that will put you into lower search terms, for example, if UK hidden gems are trending you do not want to niche down to say "Is this Wales' most hidden gem?" in the video whilst focusing on using the UK as a keyword in the caption, you put yourself at risk for being categorised as a lower keyword which will mean a decrease in reach.
How do I know that my optimisation efforts have worked?
You can see what topic TikTok has categorised your content as by looking at the 'see related content' bar on your video with will be replaced with a keyword. This generally will happen around 2 or more hours after posting.
